Weight transfer can be performed manually or through using the Trackmobile MAX-Tran option (when installed). MAX-Tran is a patented option that automatically calculates the optimal amount of lift required for complete weight transfer to occur. By simply raising or lowering the couplers, your Trackmobile railcar mover can gain thousands of pounds for traction. This Trackmobile option is proven to increase traction, reduce fuel consumption, and reduce track maintenance.
This patented system eliminates operator guesswork when moving railcars. MAX-Tran automatically detects the optimal amount of weight that can be safely transferred from the coupled railcar(s) to produce the greatest attainable tractive effort. A microprocessor-based controller ensures that the maximum weight is maintained while moving railcars, even over varying track conditions. The operator can select manual or automatic mode.
